Hi, I’m Gwen Dempsey, founder of OH! BABY Life Coaching.
A bit about me…
I was an elementary school teacher for 25 years. I actually started out as a volunteer and a substitute teacher for about 5 years during my early 30’s. I then went back to college and got my degree in early childhood education. I went to graduate school and got my MS and EdS degrees. I loved what I was doing, but the stress was so great that I had a stroke on December 24, 2000. I was not expected to live, but there was another purpose for my life.
I could not give up my passion for teaching, but the stress was killing me. I made a change in my career. I got an endorsement to teach ESOL (English to Speakers of Other Languages) classes. I also changed schools. That was the scariest but most rewarding thing I ever did. I really felt I was making a difference in those children’s lives. I learned some of the best life lessons during those last 10 years of teaching.
I was learning to do self nurturing and self improvement. I began realizing some of my dreams and goals. I created my own websites, learned to do computer digital graphics, took drawing lessons, and during this time I developed seven simple methods to help my students overcome test anxiety and wrote a book about it. Stress from all the governmental red tape, began to creep up on me. I knew it was about time for me to make another change.
What I studied…
I began taking classes to become a life coach, NLP practitioner, Emotion Code practitioner, and SPE practitioner (concerned with deep spiritual levels for essential oil blending).
